Some problems and solutions in automotive wiring harness processing
Cutting process
Result of poor trimming:
1. Poor peeling size: The next process (crimping) cannot be operated normally, which also leads to the failure of the finished product.
2. Poor wire size: The wire size is too short, resulting in unqualified finished wires.
3. Core damage and oxidation: poor crimping and virtual connection.
Defective product handling process: (example of defective size)
1. Operator: If the size is too short, immediately find out the reason for the failure, communicate with the inspector to solve the problem, prevent the occurrence of defective products in batches, and directly scrap the short size, and shall not be mixed with the qualified products and transferred to the next process; the size is long The rework with wire strippers shall be confirmed by the inspector for eligibility.
2. Inspector: If defective products are found in random inspection, they are required to immediately find out the reasons and rectify them, and review and deal with defective products. If there are batches of defective products, they should immediately stop for rectification and report to their immediate leaders.
crimping process
Consequences of poor crimping:
1. The pull-off force is too small: the wire core and the terminal are virtually connected or fall off.
2. Generally, poor crimping will lead to a lot of waste of cost, and it is difficult to rework and easily scrapped.
Defective product handling process: (pulling force is too small)
1. Operator: If the tension is too small, the crimping should be stopped immediately, and the mechanic should be contacted to adjust the crimping die and report to the inspector.
